Apprenticeships at LeasAG.

LeasAG sees itself as an innovative company. And this applies across all areas – even beyond the core business of leasing. At LeasAG, we take a long-term view. This naturally includes training the skilled workers of tomorrow, particularly for the highly specialised leasing sector. Preferably, of course, with the option of offering them a permanent position at LeasAG once their training is complete.

As a growing, forward-looking company, we are keen to train our own office management assistants and commercial leasing specialists, thereby giving our trainees the best possible start to their careers. Ideally, of course, right here with us. Trainees at LeasAG have been recognised by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) as the best in their year group.Furthermore, we support interested members of our staff in qualifying as trainers, so that we can continue to develop in this area too. Since 2022, Nicole Smitz from our team has also been an IHK-certified trainer.

With the SiA programme, we offer one of the most innovative training opportunities available. Our aim is to provide our future employees with a sound technical foundation and, through a study-integrated (dual) training programme, cross-sector knowledge as well.Through the dual training programme at LeasAG, we therefore offer our trainees the best possible opportunity to achieve a high standard of training.It is with good reason that we were recognised by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in 2021 for our outstanding achievements in vocational training.

THE DUAL TRAINING PROGRAMMEFROM SIA-NRW:

COMBINED BUSINESS SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY PROGRAMME

In light of the shortage of skilled workers and the shift away from vocational training towards academic education, North Rhine-Westphalia’s study-integrated training (SiA) programme has created an alternative that is both sensible and compelling. The programme is very well thought out: young people gain practical experience in their chosen trade – for example, at LeasAG – in conjunction with vocational college – whilst also taking study modules from a degree programme related to their apprenticeship at university. Three learning environments are thus linked together: the workplace, vocational college and university. The time commitment corresponds to a standard 40-hour week. After 12–18 months, trainees can decide which educational and career path they wish to pursue. The advantage is that if they opt for vocational training alone, they are not considered to have dropped out of university. The study modules can even be credited towards a degree programme if they decide to continue their studies later. If they continue with the study-integrated apprenticeship, they will ultimately hold both an apprenticeship qualification and a bachelor’s degree. Through accompanying coaching, they receive support to make this decision regarding their future educational and career path independently. As part of the coaching programme, SiA-NRW also helps trainees to learn methods of academic work and self-organisation, as well as study techniques, and provides support in crisis situations.
